Lisa ‘fell’ into marketing in the corporate and online world over 20 years ago. She cut her teeth working in London ranging from administration roles to client relationship manager to marketing manager. This covered a wide range of industries like FMCG, hospitality, the legal profession, newspaper and magazine publishing, event management, financial services and construction/project management. When she returned to her home turf in Queensland in 2014, Lisa took up the position of PA and business development manager at an engineering consultancy in Brisbane.
Having a passion for entrepreneurialism and small business marketing strategy, it intrigued her when digital marketing overtook traditional marketing. She wanted to understand the nuts and bolts of it. So, with her ‘can-do’ attitude, Lisa took courses developing multiple skills in content management, social media marketing, internet marketing, and other complementary skills.
A believer in walking the walk, Lisa’s USP is having owned and run two small businesses in the UK, and being instrumental in business management when employed. This led to completing the certificate of business studies in London while working in the marketing department of DMG:Media (aka Associated Newspapers / The Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard). Her background and experience give her an edge in not only devising a small business marketing strategy but also imparting valuable insights and advice for the small business owner at the start-up stage.
